Generate a random integer within given inclusive bounds, available to subsequent RowAction ingredients.

Outline Display: Generate a random integer between {{lowerBound}} and {{upperBound}} (inclusive) in column {{columnName}}.

Details

If the configured upper bound is less than the lower bound, the ingredient deterministically returns the lower bound rather than producing an error. This is a safety fallback for misconfiguration; callers should configure upperBound >= lowerBound to get a genuinely random value.

Settings

Required

  • columnName : new column (type: integer; required, non-nullable)
    The name of the new random integer column (must not shadow other names).

Optional

  • lowerBound : constant value (type: integer; required, non-nullable)
    The lower bound (inclusive) of the random integer.

  • upperBound : constant value (type: integer; required, non-nullable)
    The upper bound (inclusive) of the random integer. Must be greater than or equal to the lower bound.
