Load list column from row

Wrap values the current row already carries into a new list column holding exactly one element, without fetching anything

Outline Display: Add list column {{newColumn}} holding one element built from the data we’re processing: {{element}}

Details

The mapping names the element’s fields and says where each comes from. An entry whose formula is a bare [Column] hands that column over at its own type, optionality and all, which is what lets the element match one loaded from a query or an endpoint; anything computed has to declare its ty as in any other mapping. Nothing is read, written or sent here. This is how a single-record branch matches a list-returning branch under Case or If condition: a column survives the merge only where every branch produces it under the same name at the same type, so a branch that called an endpoint returning one record wraps that record here, and both branches end with the same list column for the steps after the merge – or for From list column to answer with. The element’s fields must agree with the other branch’s element exactly, names and types alike; where they do not, the merge reports the two list types as a conflict rather than dropping the column. Field ORDER is part of that agreement: the element takes its fields in the order the mapping states them, while a loaded list takes its own from its source – the order the endpoint’s response fields were declared in, a RevealKeyValues contributing its columns in reveal: order, or a query’s select list. Reordering an endpoint’s Outputs: therefore changes nothing. Written as an object, a mapping’s entries are sorted by column name, which is an order of its own; spell the element as a list of From formula entries whenever it has to line up with a list something else produced.

Local scope

The parent slot binds these (look up the slot in the parent to see how):

  • $table – The table to act on

Names introduced within this component’s knobs:

  • elementFields – empty table populated by ingredients
  • NULL – empty table populated by ingredients
  • elementTable – empty table populated by ingredients

Settings

Required

  • newColumn : new column (type: list of elementTable’s full row type)
    The name of the new list column to create

Optional

  • element : ingredient slot of mappingIngredientsList($table, elementFields, NULL) (many)
    The fields of the one element, each set from the row we’re processing
