Action Button

Concept

Run a pre-defined action when the user presses a button.

Outline Display: The label for the button is {{label}} and the text of the button is {{buttonText}}. The action to perform is: {{rowAction}}

Details

The button’s row action starts with the handler’s URL parameters as its initial data context (or an empty context when the handler declares no parameters). The row action can then build up further context using ingredients like LoadColumnFromQuery or LoadColumnFromFormula before performing operations like AddRowToTable, SendEmail, or API calls.

Local scope

Names introduced within this component’s knobs:

  • rowActionTable – virtual table holding this handler’s parameters

Settings

Required

  • label : constant value (type: text; required, non-nullable)
    the label for the button

  • buttonText : constant value (type: text; required, non-nullable)
    the text on the button itself

Optional

  • dismissAfter : constant value (type: integer; optional)
    how long (in milliseconds) the action result is shown before being auto-dismissed; omit this parameter to keep the result on the page until the user navigates away (useful when the result is meant to be read, e.g. an AI-generated summary)

  • rowAction : ingredient slot of rowActionsIngredients(rowActionTable) (many)
    The action we will perform when the button is pressed
